Summit County Fire Danger: Extreme

As of Wednesday, June 24, Summit County's Fire Danger Level has increased to Extreme. All state and unincorporated lands in Summit County are under a Stage 2 Fire Restriction.

The following acts are prohibited during a Stage 2 Fire Restriction:

  • Building, maintaining, attending or using , campfire, or stove fire. This includes

    charcoal grills and barbecues, coal and wood burning stoves and tent stoves and includes use at homes and in developed camping and picnic grounds.

  • Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, trailer or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area that is paved or free from dry vegetation.

  • Discharging or using any fireworks, tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnic devices including exploding targets.

  • Cutting, welding or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation.

  • Operating a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV, or other small internal combustion engine without an approved and working spark arrestor.

Your Summer Outdoor Water Conservation Checklist

As of May 21st, Utah is under a state of emergency due to drought conditions. During the summer months, outdoor water accounts for a significant portion of household water use. Help conserve water in your community by following the simple tips below and visiting the Division of Water Resources website for additional resources.

  • Visit your water provider's website to learn about watering restrictions

  • Water only when it's dark out or as the sun is rising and avoid watering during the hours of 10 am and 6 pm

  • Adjust lawn mower height to at least 3-4" to increase soil retention

  • Set irrigation controllers to match the state's lawn watering guide

  • Check to see if you qualify for lawn-replacement incentives and consider removing areas of your lawn in exchange for localscapes.

  • Upgrade to a smart irrigation controller to save water by adjusting sprinkler schedules to weather and soil conditions

Official Election Results for 2026 Primaries 

The official 2026 Primary Election results are now available. View the certified results following the July 7 Election Canvass HERE. 

Did you know? An election canvass, which always occurs two weeks after an Election Day, is when the governing body of the entity having an election receives the election results, examines them, and decides whether to approve them as final or request more information, clarification, or documentation. Once approved, the results of the election for that entity are final.
