Senior Citizens Strategic Plan Dinner and Lunch

All Summit County residents age 55+ are invited to give feedback on senior citizen services and programs during a free meal on June 17th or 19th. Your input will help the county plan for senior citizen needs now and into the future.

Attend either event:

  • Wednesday, June 17, 6 PM - Ledges Event Center

  • Friday, June 19, Noon - Park City Senior Center

You do NOT have to participate in Senior Citizen programming to attend. RSVP at summitcounty.info/seniors2026 or by contacting Senior Services Director Jessica Wilde at [email protected] or 435-336-3014.

Early Voting for the 2026 Primaries Begins Today, 6/16!

Please note: all early voting sites will be closed on Friday, June 19, for the Juneteenth Federal Holiday. All county offices are also closed on June 19 with the exception of the Coalville and Park City DMV offices, which will operate as usual.

Skip the lines on Election Day by voting early. Early voting locations are open June 16, 17, 18, and 20.

Free community event - Memories of Rockport

  • When: Thursday, June 18 - 6:30 PM

  • Where: The Old Church at Rockport State Park | 2719 South Rockport Rd.

As part of this year’s One Book One Community selection, join the Summit County Library and guest speaker Alan Siddoway to learn about his family’s experience in the town of Rockport before it was submerged under Rockport Reservoir over 70 years ago.

Attendance is free and no RSVP is required. We hope to see you there!

Altus Project Update

Join Summit County Manager Shayne Scott and leaders from our nonprofit community for an update on the Altus Project by Six Ridges (formerly Dakota Pacific) at Kimball Junction.

  • When: Tuesday, June 16 at 6 PM

  • Where: Richins Auditorium (Summit County Library - Kimball Junction Branch)

This discussion will cover expanded use for our community partners and nonprofits to offer greater services and programming to the public as part of the development agreement.

A light meal will be provided.

Housing & Open Space speaker series

Quilted Together ribbon-cutting event

Please join us in celebrating the installation of the first “Quilted Together” sculpture along the Rail Trail in Coalville. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, June 19, from 11–11:30 am at the intersection of Center St and the Rail Trail (near Weber River Feed and Supply).

We’re excited to see the culmination of months of work by local artists, the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board, the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County, and more. We hope to see you there!

Summit County Fire Danger: Moderate

As of Friday, June 12, Summit County's Fire Danger Level has increased to Moderate. All state and unincorporated lands in Summit County are under a Stage 1 Fire Restriction.

The following acts are prohibited during a Stage 1 Fire Restriction:

  • Open fires of any kind except within established public facilities in improved campgrounds, picnic areas -OR- in permanently constructed fire pits at private homes where running water is present.

  • Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, trailer or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area that is paved or free from dry vegetation.

  • Discharging or using any fireworks, tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnic devices including exploding targets.

  • Cutting, welding, or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation.

  • Operating a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV, or other small internal combustion engine without an approved and working spark arrestor.

  • Any of the above acts is a violation of state law and is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
