Featured Project: Old Ranch Road

Work on Old Ranch Road is scheduled to resume this Friday, May 22, 2026. Drivers should expect one-lane traffic controlled by temporary signals. Construction is anticipated to continue for approximately one month, with paving expected to begin on June 22 and tentative project completion scheduled for June 30, 2026.

Wildfire season is just around the corner, and you don’t need to be a meteorologist to know it’s shaping up to be a hot, dry summer.

Follow these three quick steps to make sure you’re getting the latest information on emergency alerts, fire conditions, restrictions, and active fire updates in Summit County.

  1. Make sure you’re signed up for Summit County Emergency Alerts.

  2. Text SCFIRE to 91896 for non-emergency wildfire season updates.

  3. Sign up for email notifications at summitcounty.info/notifyme

    1. Scroll down to “Alert Center”

    2. Subscribe to “Fire Restrictions, Conditions & Red Flag Warnings” AND “Summit County Active Emergency updates

Get ready for Primary Elections

Primary Elections are June 23, 2026! 

The Summit County Clerk’s Office will begin mailing ballots on June 2. If you are registered as a Republican, you will receive a Republican ballot. If you are registered as a Democrat, you will receive a Democratic ballot. Any registered voter can request a Democratic ballot at summitcounty.info/ballotrequest by June 12, 2026. 

Important: You can only vote in one Primary Election. 

The deadline to register to vote and receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the 2026 Primaries is also June 12, 2026. The easiest way to register to vote if you have an up-to-date Utah driver’s license is to go to voter.utah.gov.  

Have you checked your voter registration status recently? Make sure you’re listed as an active voter here: voter.utah.gov. Voters who are not registered to vote by June 12, 2026, but are otherwise eligible to vote, may vote provisionally in person during early voting and on Primary Election Day.

Give back to the land at the 5th Annual Trails, Trash & Tunes

Summit County’s Stormwater Coalition will celebrate National Trails Day (June 6) with the return of Trails, Trash & Tunes. Come participate in a community cleanup and weed pull, enjoy live music, kids' activities, and food and beverage vendors.

Free lunch for the first 50 participants! Attendees can also earn raffle tickets and win prizes by visiting the educational booths staffed by local partners and county employees.
